Letters and Calls to Unions

You are here: Home / Letters and Calls to Unions

Why Contact Union Leaders?

Because the Ford government has systematically changed fundamental mandates, roles, and services/jobs for workers within these unions, making their work either redundant, more stressful or simply confusing. Unions can call a general strike to show their disapproval of these enormous changes.

Sample Letter

To:  __________

Bill 23 must be rescinded immediately.

It, and other laws and ministerial orders, have changed the entire mandates, roles and therefore services/jobs of many ministries and sectors. This toying with the public services and operations in Ontario is unacceptable and further violates rights of Ontarians and Indigenous Nations.

We are calling on your Union to consider a General Strike to support the termination of such self-serving manipulations that are destroying our democracy, economy and environment.

We would appreciate a considered response and related updates from your office, and can be reached at______________

Sincerely,
