What’s Bugging our Forests?
August 27, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm$10.00
What is happening to our trees? From softwoods to beech, and now maples too…there are new challenges afoot that are threatening the richness of our forested habitats and favourite haunts. From the foreign moths to bark diseases we are losing our trees. Learn how to identify new pests, discover how our forests are fairing and what the cycles are from defoliation to new growth. Meet experts and find answers to unravel the mystery of these new patterns.
Join us for a full evening: booth displays by local groups, including our live turtles, and presentations by Ontario Woodlot Association, biologists, and local conservation champions.
Dinner (vegan and venison chili and snacks) and a meet and greet begins at 5pm. Presentations begin at 6pm to 8pm.
This event is scheduled to take place at the Catchecoma Community Centre on Highway 507 north of Flinn’s corners. We are awaiting confirmation. The alternative venue may be the TLB head office on Gelert Road in Dysart et al. If covid restrictions apply, we will hold the event online.
