Design-Your-Own Shoreland Garden Workshop

July 19 @ 7:00 pm

  • « Snake Supervisors-Training Workshop
    (for registered volunteers only)
  • Turtle Camp: Level 1! »

Interested in improving the health of your waterfront? Want erosion control, privacy from your neighbours AND beautiful flowers? Looking for a way to stop pesky geese from pooping everywhere!? If so, book a spot in our Design-Your-Own Shoreland Gardens Workshop!

This is our most popular workshop for shoreland owners! During this workshop you will receive expert consultations catered to your specific shoreland wants and needs! Learn about shoreland design considerations and work with experts to create a custom native garden design for your property. In designing your beautiful garden we will focus on the shoreline areas where upland meets lowland — this area provides the most support for both aquatic and terrestrial wildlife.

Shorelands are a very important habitat with over 90% of the lake’s ecosystem processes and habitat features being present at the shore. By participating in this workshop we will work together to improve the health of your shorelands while also working to maintain your desired esthetic! Choose selections according to your taste, colour pallet, and while maintaining views of the lake. Improve your knowledge and skills at this workshop, to make informed choices that will also increase biodiversity, pollinators, improve water quality, and support lake health.

Online workshops are $40/person

Take pictures of your shore property, with a focus on the shoreline area, and have them ready to share online.
