A Night of Nightjars (and for Volunteers- Training for monitoring whippoorwills)

June 3, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
  • « Turtle Road Researcher Training
  • Turtle Nest Sitter Training »

Learn about these elusive and shy birds that nest adjacent to our homes. Nightjars are aerial insectivores and consume large amounts of flying insects including mosquitoes and moths. They are the fastest declining birds and yet are reliant on The Land Between bioregion. This is an activity done in pairs in vehicles along designated routes. We recommend doing this with a household member that you have been self-isolating with.  Register as a volunteer on https://www.thelandbetween.ca/whippoorwill-surveys/
