Blue Lakes

The Blue Lakes program is a rewarding, community-based program aimed at keeping Cottage Country’s lakes healthy and intact.

Our Lakes

The Land Between region is home to overe 2,400 lakes that are all valuable ecosystems. While these lakes are sensitive to human activity, our own wellbeing depends on the quality of our lakes. With the increasing development of cottage country, now is an important time to protect our lakes.

Joining the Blue Lakes project means valuing the lake you live on.

Explore our eight Program Area and select goals for your lakefront property. At the end of each calendar year, assess  your achievements and be awarded a blue flag to fly on your property. This blue flag signifies your successful participation in the program and commitment to your lake's health. Each year, pursuing new goals will increase your knowledge, benefit your lake, and allow you to continue flying the blue flag.
