The Land informs our culture; how we navigate the landscape determines our relationships and the species and resources within the landscape lend to our identity. The Land Between is a unique landscape with shallow soils and open areas, winding rivers and lakes that offer a relatively easier passage than other areas in history. It is a meeting place of north and south; of old and new; of city and country; of Indigenous peoples and settlers.
Maps are a proxy for a landscape and can indicate patterns that reveal ideologies, histories and of course, stories.
The Land Stories project is a living project of the charity. It will evolve as more stories unfold and are uncovered.
