Positions include junior field ecologists to sample insects and type wetlands; environmental communications specialists to create and communicate community science programs related to habitats; turtle care workers (Haliburton only) to assist in caring for in house teaching turtles; and charity administration coordinators and bookkeeping support. These positions are FT from 2 months to 4 months, and PT from 3 months up to 6 months.
We are also hiring an Indigenous Knowledge Coordinator- here the incumbent must be Aanishinaabek, and will work with a senior team of Indigenous knowledge holders and coordinators. This position involves approaching elders and knowledge holders across central and northern Ontario, to share knowledge related to traditional clan systems, language and practices, to inform the creation of an Indigenous Land Trust for Ontario, which will be entirely Indigenous owned and led. This position can be located anywhere in Ontario, and will involve travel to Reserves across the province depending on Covid restrictions. This position is 30 hours a week to 35 hours a week for a period of six months.
